Cointreau is a triple sec liqueur that originated in Saint-Barthélemy-d'Anjou, France, and is enjoyed as both an apéritif and digestif. Despite its signature orange bottle, Cointreau is actually colorless and is a key ingredient in many classic cocktails. Originally known as Curaçao Blanco Triple Sec, it is sometimes referred to as Cointreau L'Unique to differentiate it from other related products. Additionally, Cointreau produces a cognac-based blend called Cointreau Noir, which is 70% Cointreau and 30% Rémy Martin.
