Rey Campero Sierra Negra, released in 2018 by Casa Sanchez, is solely produced in Mexico due to the rarity of the agave Sierra Negra. This variety of agave takes a full 25 years to reach maturity and, given the limited availability of the plant, is no longer a commonplace ingredient in mezcal production.
